Indication*
Essential HTN in adults, children and adolescents 6-18yr. Renal disease in adult w/ HTN & type 2 DM w/ proteinuria≥.5g daily as part of antihypertensive treatment. Chronic heart failure in adult when treatment w/ ACE inhibitors in not considered suitable. Reduction in risk of stroke in adult hypertensive patients w/ left ventricular hypertrophy documented by ECG.
