Indication*
Folic Acid is used in the treatment and prevention of the folate deficiency state. As a prophylactic in instances in which in the folic acid requirement is increased, especially during pregnancy, to prevent and reduce incidence of neural tube defects. used in the treatment of megaloblastic anemias which may result from malabsorption syndromes such as sprue, idiophatic stearprrhea, celiac disease, intestinal reticulosis, regional jejunitis, jejunal diverticulosis, blind loop syndrome, and gastroenterostomy. Folic acid is also indicated for chronic hemolytic anemia, exfoliative skin disease, gingivitis, anorectic cancer, cervical dysplasia and cardiovascular disease.
Directions for Use*
Take 1 capsule of Folic Acid (Folicard) daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Administration*
May be taken with or without food.
