Indication*
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections of mild to moderate severity.
Directions for Use*
Adult: The usual dosage is 250mg every six hours; or 500mg every 12 hours taken in the fasting state or immediately before meals. The total daily dose may be taken in two divided doses, once every 12 hours. Up to 4g per day may be administered, depending upon the severity of the infections. For more severe infections or infections due to less susceptible organisms, 2 tablets initially followed by 1 tablet every 8 hours. Children: Age, weight and severity of the infections are important factors in determining the proper dosage. For the treatment of mild to moderate infections, the usual dosage is 30 to 50 mg/kg day in three or four divided doses.
Administration*
When dosage is desired on twice a day schedule, one half of the total daily dose may be given every 12 hours in the fasting state or immediately before meals.
