Indication*
Cloxacillin is used in the treatment of infections due to staphylococci resistant to benzylpenicillin. These include bone and joint infections, endocarditis, pneumonia, skin infections (including soft-tissue infections) and toxic shock syndrome.
Directions for Use*
Cloxacillin should be given at least 30 minutes before meals as the presence of food in the stomach reduces absorption. All doses are expressed in terms of the equivalent amount of cloxacillin. Cloxacillin may be administered in combination with other antibiotics, including ampicillin, to produce a wider spectrum of antibacterial activity or as prescribed by the physician.
