Indication*
Clarithromycin is given in the treatment of respiratory-tract infections (including otitis media) and in skin and soft tissue infections. Clarithromycin is also used for the prophylaxis and treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial infections and has been used as a second-line drug in the treatment of leprosy. Clarithromycin may be given to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in treatment regimens for peptic ulcer disease. It is used with pyrimethamine as an alternative regimen in the treatment of toxoplasmosis.

Directions for Use*
8-9kg 62.5mg 1.25ml, 16-17kg 125mg 2.5ml, 25-26kg 187.5mg 3.75ml, 33-34kg, 250mg 5ml.
Administration*
Clarithromycin may be administered without dosage adjustment in the presence of hepatic impairment if there is normal renal function. However, in the presence of severe renal impairment (CRcL <30 mL/min), with or without coexisting hepatic impairment, the dose should be halved or the dosing interval doubled.
