Adults: Dose range: 1,000-4,000 mg daily in divided doses. usually dose: 250 mg 6 hourly or 500 mg 12 hourly ; doses may be given in more severe infections or those caused by less susceptible organisms. Treatment Duration: 7-14 days depending on the type and severity of infection. Child: Usually dose: 25-50 mg/kg daily in divided doses. Severe infection: 50-100mg/kg daily in divided doses. Treatment Duration: 7-14 days depending on the type and severity of infection.

May be taken with or without food. May be taken with meals to reduce GI discomfort.
