Apixaban is indicated for the prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in surgical patients (elective hip or knee replacement surgery), prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (Nonvalvular AF (NVAF) and treatment of VTE (treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) and prevention of recurrent DVT and PE).
