Treatment of respiratory tract, skin & soft tissue infections, leprosy, infections due to Mycobacterium avium, protozoal infection & for the eradication of H. pylori associated with peptic ulcer.

Adult 250 mg bid, may be increased to 500 mg bid in severe infections for 7-12 days. Mycobacterium avium complex Prophylaxis/Treatment: Adult 500 mg bid. Children 7.5 mg/kg bid up to 500 mg bid. Leprosy 500 mg daily as part an alternative multidrug therapy regimen. Eradication of a H. pylori associated with peptic ulcer 500 mg bid given with another antibacterial & either a proton-pump inhibitor or an H2-receptos antagonist for 7-14 days. Suspension Children 10-12 year (30-49 kg) 10 mL (2 tsp); 7-9 year (20-29 kg) 7.5 mL (1 1/2 tsp); 3-6 year (12-19 kg) 5 mL (1 tsp) 1-2 year (8-11kg) 2.5 mL (1/2 tsp) <8kg 7.5 mg/kg daily. Duration of treatment: 5-10 days.

May be taken with or without food.
