Augmentin Infection of upper & lower respiratory tract, GUT , skin & soft tissue, bone & joint, septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, dental infection (for oral prep), female genital infections. Augmentin ES Upper respiratory tract infection (including ENT) eg, recurrent or persistent acute otitis media due to Strep pneumoniae, H. influenzae & Moraxella catarrhalis. Lower respiratory tract infections eg, lobar & bronchopneumonia typically caused by Strep pneumoniae, H. influenzae & Moraxella catarrhalis. Skin & soft tissue infections typically caused by Staph aureus & Strep pyogenes.

Augmentin tab Adult Mild to moderate infections 375 mg tid or 625 mg bid-tid or 1 g bid. Severe infections 2 times 375 mg tid or 1-2 times 625 mg tid or 1 g bid-tid. Augmentin suspension Children Skin & soft tissue infections, recurrent tonsillitis 20-40 mg/kg/day tid or 25-45 mg/kg/day bid. Otitis media, sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infection, UTI 40-60 mg/kg/day tid or 45-70 kg/mg/day bid. Augmentin ES suspension Children >3 month 90/6.4 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses at 12 - hourly intervals for 10 days, 36 kg 13.5 mL bid, 32 kg 12 mL bid, 28 kg 10.5 mL bid, 24 kg 9 mL bid, 20 kg 7.5 mL bid, 16 kg 6 mL bid, 12 kg 4.5 mL bid, 8 kg 3 mL bid.

May be taken with or without food: Best taken at the start of meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.
