It is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of susceptible infections. These have included bone and joint infections, bronchitis (and other lower respiratory tract infections), gonorrhea, meningitis, otitis media, peritonitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, skin infections(including soft tissue infections), and urinary tract infections. It is also used for surgical infections prophylaxis.

Tap the bottle to loosen the powder. Slowly add boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the bottle and shake well. Add water if necessary to adjust the volume to the mark. The reconstituted suspension should be stored in a refrigerator and should be used within 7 days after reconstitution.
